Toffee Apple Summer is a mix of memories. When I was growing up there were a lot of hot reservoir draining Summers. The sky was very blue with the only white being the trails left by airplanes. It’s also capturing some of the things I saw as I drove to visit my mother each week. Never quite knowing what I’d find as her mobility weakened. I’d enjoy the sunshine and the Summer songs on the radio. Never got the sweet tooth though!

For my mother childhood Summer was a time to head to the Thames beach, from the North of London, to her mum’s old stomping ground Lambeth near the Thames. A real treat being a toffee apple bought by her father.  Knowing this my father bought one for her on many occasions as we grew up as a reminder of the past.
