Peter the Great (Sagan) arrived in the bear pit at Bern(e) in Switzerland a whisker ahead of his Norwegian rival Alexander Kristoff with a lunge for the line which had spectators holding their breath. It was the third stage win for Sagan, riding for Russian team Tinkoff, during a highly successful ride for him in the Tour de France 2016. This painting captures the moment in a year when Sagan wore the yellow jersey for the first time, stormed ahead to hold the green jersey at the end, and also took most combatitive rider.
