May Scream
Fun Fairs, PeopleMay Scream shows people being spun at the end of the mechanical arm of a spinning ride as they've come down from the heights. Acrylic painting on paper. Image 30.5 x 20.5 cm.£140.00
The chains are taut on the swing chair. Legs are flying out, arms being waved. Screams of delight. The sky light changes from bright and light to a darker softer blue of the evening. The lights begin to twinkle and reflect off the metal paint. Energetic brush strokes used to capture the changing light and movement.
Built up in layers the painting will also change with the different types of light that bounce off the surface. Feedback from customers is that they’ve watched their paintings at night rather than television! You will spot the English flag.
In Hereford the May Fair sees the streets of the City closed and filled with fun fair machinery. As dusk falls the lights shine and reflect in the windows of homes, businesses and shops. This painting is framed and makes me feel like I’m looking out of one of those windows at that moment.
Acrylic painting 61 x 61 x 1.5 cm canvas. The edges being the red of the original layer of paint, wrapped round the shallow stretchers.
Framed in a white wood frame, which increases the space required to hang to 71 x 71 cm, with D-rings and hanging cord fitted. Ready to hang.
