All That
LandscapesAll That is a bright painting of the drop of leaves ready to decay to pave the way for new growth in the following Spring. Like life we get older and drop away to be replaced by new growth. Acrylic 40 x 40 x 1 cm canvas on shallow stretchers. Ready to hang.£390.00
Ringwald is from the Light Series of works inspired by travels along the M4 to visit my elderly mother. The early Winter light is quite beautiful. It’s pale coolness visible through the trees. Capturing the early. Wald is a derivation of the old English ‘wold’ meaning wood. Ringwald is also the surname of an actress. American Molly Ringwald was the lead in cult film Pretty in Pink.
With the trees silvery bark and the pink-mauves in the cool sky the painting shimmers. Leaves which had fallen, but remained create a colourful carpet. Inspired by the views as I flashed by in the car.
I also took the opportunity to use different media with the Light Series of works. Ringwald has had acrylic including some metallic and luminescent shades applied with a stick as well as brush.
Image: Acrylic on a 40 x 50 x 1 cm canvas on shallow stretchers. The image goes slightly around the edge. The rest of the edge is painted chalk-white.
Ready to Hang: D-rings and hanging cord attached.
