Joker captures colours of the light trails as the ride spins and has rise and fall. In the middle a cricket dressed as the Joker. The ride sounds loud. It looks loud. The riders are loud. The watchers moving their heads with the movement. Shouts to bystanders. Noise. Noise. Noise.
Every May the fun fair comes to the City. Ancient citizen’s rights being played out in bright lights. The movement of the people and the lights as it gets darker and darker is fantastic to observe. I’m the photographer squashed against the wall, kneeling in the puddles (it always rains at some point), and craning over barriers.
