Carousel captures the wonderful colours of the moving horses, poles and lights. Movement in many directions. I’ve always loved the Carousel. Probably the first fair ride many of my generation would have gone on. Love looking at the static ones at Brighton Beach and on the South Bank. Also each year one will visit Hereford’s May Fair.
This incorporates some overhanging trees from the street. The carousel is caught at light up time. So just going dark. Walking towards it you hear the wurlitzer type music, and see happy groups of adults and children on the ride or waving at the side.
Built up in layers the painting will also change with the different types of light that bounce off the surface. Some metallic paints have also been used.
