Looking to the Past

Kathryn Sassall Artist LogoFriday 13th always been lucky for me, and after the week I’ve had I need some luck. A day at Vintage Goodwood is truly inspiring. Great company with my friend’s teenage fashion mad daughter. Luckily we’re both old enough to enjoy the pleasures of the Pimms bus!
A chance to scribble on the blackboard bus with all the others who attended the first day of this new festival.

What a fantastic event. If you don’t know which era to dress for then visit in shorts and a tee with some cash. Fantastic market-place or even make your own at the Clothkits shop.

Remember them from when I was growing up and their printed designs are still fresh and fashionable. A beautiful print especially for the event including horses, cars, planes and the Goodwood House as a 50’s dress is really fab.

Quite surreal sitting on sofas reading newspapers in the middle of a field, and having tea and cake from beautiful china hoping the rain does not come down any harder!

Amazing to see the Buzzcocks on stage with people’s umbrellas bobbing up and down above their 40’s army uniforms and woollens next to others in the up to the moment festival goers uniform of shorts and welly boots.

A series of bus sketches will be on their way for friends who have been ferrying the VIPs around and some other vintage vehicles. Some really lovely cookie campers.

Looking forward to going back on Sunday.
